Hey Ladies!

I see that this hasn't been updated in forever but I'm currently waiting for my PTS to come back and its my last look. Might end up getting denied due to manning issues, just wondering how easy/hard the transition is?

Hey Yall, I'm a new member and I'm going into boot camp on May 7th.  I also went from 185 lbs -ish, to 135 lbs and I'm still hoping to lose more weight before then.  I'm only 5'2" so I'm still heavy.

My Navy Job is AO (Aviation Ordnance) which is very exciting for me, and I'm going into the Buddy Program with my twin sister.

Also I did Colorguard/Winterguard, Marching Band, and Weightlifting back in I was in HS.  I graduated in 05.
I love to read expectually Romance/Romantic Supsence like Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb and ect.

So Hey, and does anyone want to talk. :)

I'll be entering the DEP program within the next month or so, but there were a few questions I was curious on, and the majourity of women on the navy.com boards are wives or gf's *groans* ANYWAY. If anyone would be kind enough to answer some questions, I'd be most appreciative.
1. How long , in the morning, do you get to shower? I read for the guys it's five minutes, are the women under the same restriction?
2. I read somewhere in regards to dress uniform "they wear the same thing". Which had me confused. I thought the womens dress uniform was the white skirt and jacket, whilest the men wear the stereotype sailor outfit, or do women also wear that, or do we get a choice? The whole thing just confused me.
3. I know you go into the pool twice, and women are supposed to bring a black/navy single piece bathing suit for this. If you don't have one, will the Navy, like the mens, provide one, or will you have to buy one on-base? My normal swim suit attire is a bikini and board-shorts (you know, the lovely shorts that go to yer knee) if it was a solid black/navy colour would I be allowed to wear that, or would they say that I'd needs must remove it and be in the standard one-piece?
4. In boot, are you given the option to attend chapel? What are the "un-written" reprecussions if you don't, and what is your alternative if you opt not to go?

I'm sure I'll have more questions, but those were some of the ones that have been bothering me for a bit. Thank you for reading, and for taking the time to answer any of those which you can.

Okay guys. I found out last monday i ship out on august 16th!!! YAY FOR ME!!! I'm also gonna tell the truth about my surgeries. if anything, it'll just delay my process. i doubt they'll get pissed at me for lying about that.

but my question is, when you get to boot camp

A) are they really anal about the 8 oz shampoo bottle? can it be a 9 oz and no one will care?
B) can i buy razors there????? because i know you can't bring them on the plane (isn't that true???), and my recruiter said i could buy them at boot, but you know recruiters....

also, i'm going into the airman apprenticeship program. what do you knonw about it??? i'm very excited and all, but i dont know what to expect. will i be on carriers? will it be fun? please, let me know what you know!

Okay here is what happened. When I first was going through the enlistment program, my recruiter asked me if i had had any surgeries. I said yes, and he was like, you have??? i was like, yeah, two hernias, by my pelvic bone. he asked if they were covered by underwear, for MEPS and i said yes. he said not to meantion it.

but i'm freaking out now, because that whole oath i took saying i didn't lie. i hate lying, and i dont want repercussions because i was intimidated by the recruiter.

how do i fix this? i know when i go into basic i'll have a gyno exam, and they'll see it if they look there. what do i say? lie? try to talk my recruiters into fixing it? i do not want to get into trouble with this.

i'm really stressed over this, and any good advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hey I have a question.

Does anyone here know any information over the seamen apprentice program? I might be changing my job which would ship me out at the end of this month, but if i dont ship out for that job, I want to join the program, so I can ship out.

But I would liek to know anything and everything you can give me.
